Biography
Dr. Bess Malson-Huddle teaches graduate and undergraduate Business Communication and serves as the Director of Business Communication at the Wisconsin School of Business. She earned her Ph.D. in English from UW-Madison.
Dr. Malson-Huddle has taught writing for over 20 years and business presentations since 2009. She has designed curricula in business, engineering, and humanities programs at UW-Madison, the University of Vermont (UVM), and the University of Virginia. Previously, she served as the President’s speechwriter and the Communications Coordinator for the Office of the President at UVM.
Her professional experience and her research on pedagogy inform her instruction and the training workshops she offers on best practices for persuasive business presentations and documents. In her undergraduate course, she emphasizes the importance of information literacy and helps students find the best industry sources to meet their professional goals. To assist graduate students and professionals, she regularly designs training sessions in effective business writing and presenting.
In addition to her doctorate, Dr. Malson-Huddle earned an M.F.A. at the University of Virginia, an M.A. at University of Vermont, and graduated Magna Cum Laude Phi Beta Kappa from Middlebury College.
