Industry Resources
The following list of sources organizes the publications available to you online or through the library databases. These lists are not exhaustive; you will want to also do your own research to find out if there are more publications relevant to your career interests, especially in niche fields or subspecialties.
Vetting Industry-Related Resources
The resources linked on these pages are examples of information sources in field-specific information ecosystems. Continue to evaluate credibility and relevance for your specific audience. A resource can be viewed as credible in one situation but questionable in another, or its quality can suddenly degrade. All resources have biases and an incentive to get readers to click on articles.
Additionally, credible resources can have problematic content:
- General audience sources often contain content marketing and inaccurate opinion pieces.
- Scholarly and medical journals sometimes publish a single study that then can’t be replicated by other researchers or have limited sample sizes that make findings questionable.
- Nonfiction books often don’t undergo a fact-checking process and even when written by experts they can contain mistakes.
No matter where you learn about an information resource, always evaluate it carefully and confirm your conclusions with multiple sources. See the Vetting Online Content and Fact-Checking Claims and the Understanding Types of Sources pages for more information.
Hyperlink Information
Hyperlinks lead either to the library database where you’ll find the source or to the source’s homepage on the internet, if it is an open access source, which means it’s not behind a paywall.
If any links are broken, let us know. However, remember that you can always perform a journal search on the library’s home page to find specific publications.
